Adriatic LNG constructed and operates the world's first concrete gravity base structure LNG regasification terminal. The terminal is located in the Adriatic Sea approximately 15km offshore from Porto Levante in the Veneto region. The Terminal was commissioned and commenced commercial operations in 2009. It has a nominal capacity of 5.8 MTA of LNG / 8 bcmy of gas, equivalent to approximately 10% of Italy's gas consumption. Adriatic LNG is an Italian joint venture company (the proper name is Terminale GNL Adriatico S.r.l.) owned by ExxonMobil, Qatar Petroleum and Edison S.p.a. The Company is headquartered in Milan, Italy with a Shorebase located near Porto Viro in the Veneto region.
