SLNG - Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Ltd
Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Ltd (SLNG) was incorporated in June 2009 to build, own and operate Singapores very first open-access, multi-user LNG Terminal. This is a key infrastructure that supports Singapores energy diversification strategy and future economic development in the energy sector. With more than 95% of electricity in Singapore being generated using natural gas, the SLNG Terminal serves to enhance the countrys energy security by enabling natural gas to be shipped to Singapore from anywhere in the world. It also serves as a platform to facilitate the creation of new LNG-related businesses and job opportunities. The Terminal began commercial operations in May 2013 and currently operates with 3 storage tanks, 2 jetties and a throughput capacity of 6 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa). The next phase of expansion of the Terminal, termed Phase 3, began in 2014 and has been progressing well. Provisional Acceptance for the Phase 3 Regasification Facilities was achieved in September 2017, effectively increasing the Terminal's throughput capacity to 11 Mtpa. A fourth LNG storage tank, which will be amongst the largest in the world, is scheduled to be completed in 2018. In addition, a single-bay pilot LNG truck loading facility was added to the Terminal in end 2016. This facility allows small quantities of LNG to be transported overland to just about any location where it may be needed, and is an important first step towards developing the LNG trucking business in Singapore, which also helps to facilitate truck-to-ship LNG bunkering. SLNGs primary mandate is to provide Throughput Services for the domestic market. Beyond this, SLNG also offers ancillary services such as Vessel Cool-down, Storage & Reload, and LNG Trucking services. SLNG will continuously explore new LNG business opportunities as it pursues its vision to be a world-class LNG terminal operator enabling the growth of the energy market and LNG hub in Singapore.
