Horizon Nuclear Power

Our vision is to deliver reliable and affordable low carbon electricity, lasting economic benefits and thriving communities for generations to come. To do this were proposing to develop and construct tried and tested nuclear power stations at Wylfa Newydd on Anglesey and at Oldbury-on-Severn in South Gloucestershire. Combined these stations would provide 5,800MW of clean electricity into the grid, enough to power 11 million homes. Crucially each new power station would create up to 850 permanent jobs and many thousands of other opportunities during construction and across the supply chain. In January 2019, we announced we were suspending work at Wylfa Newydd, as well as at Oldbury, after it hadn't been possible to reach an agreement on the financing and associated commercial arrangements in time to sustain ongoing levels of development. It is hoped a way forward can be found, in discussion with UK Government, that will allow activity to resume so our projects can play a key role in the UK's low carbon energy future. Ein gweledigaeth ni yw darparu trydan carbon isel dibynadwy a fforddiadwy, manteision economaidd parhaol a chymunedau syn ffynnu am genedlaethau i ddod. I wneud hyn, rydym yn cynnig datblygu ac adeiladu gorsafoedd pwer niwclear dibynadwy a phrofedig yn Wylfa Newydd ar Ynys Mn ac yn Oldbury-on-Severn yn Ne Swydd Gaerloyw. Gydai gilydd, byddair gorsafoedd hyn yn darparu 5,800MW o drydan gln ir grid, syn ddigon i roi pwer i 11 miliwn o gartrefi. Ym mis Ionawr 2019, fe wnaethom gyhoeddi ein bod yn gohirio gwaith yn Wylfa Newydd, ac yn Oldbury, ar l methu chytuno ar y trefniadau cyllido a masnachol cysylltiedig mewn da bryd i gynnal y lefelau datblygu parhaus. Rydym yn gobeithio pennu ffordd ymlaen, mewn trafodaeth Llywodraeth y DU, a fydd yn ein galluogi i ailgydio yn y gwaith hwn er mwyn in prosiectau allu chwarae rl allweddol yn nyfodol ynni carbon isel y DU.
