First Gen Corporation (First Gen) is a leading power generation company in the Philippines with an installed capacity of 2,763 MW. First Gen has a portfolio of 15 power plants with output that is predominantly contracted for sale under long-term power purchase agreements. First Gen's power generation portofolio utilizes indigenous clean and/or renewable fuels such as natural gas, water and geothermal steam. In January 2014, First Gen broke ground on a new 414 MW natural gas-fired plant, bringing its portfolio to over 3,100 MW by 2016. Based on data published under Energy Regulatory Commission Resolution No. 3 Series of 2013, First Gen accounted for 17 per cent of the country's total installed power generation capacity.
