EDRA Power Holdings Sdn Bhd

Edra Power Holdings Sdn Bhd (Edra) is one of South East Asias leading international independent power producers, controlling a diversified portfolio of quality power generation assets across a range of technologies. We have a portfolio of 13 power and desalination plants in five countries, with a gross installed capacity under management of 6,532.5 MW and an effective capacity of 5,529 MW. On 23 March 2016, Edra became a subsidiary of China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) following the successful acquisition of Edra Global Energy Berhads operating companies by CGN and its subsidiaries (CGN Group) for RM9.83 billion in cash. CGN Group also assumed all the relevant gross debt and cash of these operating companies. Following the acquisition, Edra Power Holdings Sdn Bhd became the new holding company of these operating companies comprising Edra Solar Sdn Bhd, Edra Energy Sdn Bhd, Powertek Energy Sdn Bhd, Jimah Teknik Sdn Bhd, Jimah O&M Sdn Bhd, Mastika Lagenda Sdn Bhd and Tiara Tanah Sdn Bhd. Edra was originally formed in 2014 from the consolidation of three major IPPs in Malaysia, Powertek Energy Group, KLPP Group and Jimah Energy Group, each with an impressive history of over 20 years in the development, operation and maintenance of power plants. Edra is led by experienced management teams with deep industry knowledge, expertise and established track records, which are further supported by strategic partnerships with reputable global players. We maintain a strong focus on our existing markets of Malaysia, Egypt, Bangladesh, UAE and Pakistan, as well as emerging markets in South East Asia, the Middle East and North Africa. Our geographic diversity and market leading positions in multiple countries are strategically advantageous to capture growth in fast-developing economies. We are looking forward to further expansion opportunities in the markets where we already have a strong foothold as well as in new areas. We will explore new mixes of fuels together with potential related infrastructure such as gasification or regasification plants. In Malaysia, we currently have two growth projects in the pipeline: A new 2,400MW CCGT power plant in Melaka, Malaysia. A 50 MWac photovoltaic plant in Kedah which, based on installed capacity, will be the largest in the country upon its targeted completion in 2017.
